Patch Dance (An Israeli Wedding Dance.)
Formation
A Circle : Men have their partners on their right. Face in an anticlockwise
direction, and put your left hand, over your left shoulder, and put your
right hand out in front of you, taking hold of the left hand of the person
in front of you.
Instructions
- Walk 8 slow steps in an anticlockwise direction.
- Without letting go of each others hands, turn 180° into the circle
and put your right hand, over your right shoulder, and put your left
hand out in front of you, holding the right hand of the person in front
of you.
- Walk 8 slow steps in a clockwise direction.
- Turn and face into the centre of the circle and hold hand normally.
- Walk 2 steps into the middle and clap 3 times.
- Walk 2 steps out again and stamp 3 times.
- Repeat steps 5 and 6.
- Turn to face partner. Holding each other's hands, put your left hand
out to the side of you, keeping your right hand in front of your chest,
put your head over your partner's left arm, and walk round in a clockwise
direction for 8 steps.
- Put your right hand out to the side of you, keeping your left hand
in front of your chest, put your head over your partner's right arm,
and walk round in an anticlockwise direction for 8 steps.
- Get ready to start the dance again, making sure that the man has his
partner on his left, so that he has a new partner on his right.
Calling
- Walk 2 3 4 5 6 7 Turn.
- Walk 2 3 4 5 6 7 Turn.
- In 2 clap clap clap.
- Out 2 stamp stamp stamp.
- Turn partner clockwise
- Turn partner anticlockwise and start again.
