The Barn
International Coffee Bar
Cambridge, England.
The Barn is a club for international students
in Cambridge.
The students may study at one of the language
schools or in the University. Some of them are au-pairs or on holiday
in Cambridge.
The Barn is organised by a team of Christians
from local churches in Cambridge.
The Barn meets nearly every Thursday evening
throughout the year from
7.45 - 10.30pm
in
St Barnabas Church Hall

The Barn is on the corner of Mill Road and St Barnabas
Road.
Different things are on the programme each week, including:
- International Folk Dancing,
- Party games,
- Cultural events,
- Seasonal parties,
- board games,
- cook-your-own pancake parties
- and live music.
The main reason the students come to the Barn is to socialize in
a friendly and welcoming environment.
It is a great place for the international students to meet and
make friends with English people and to practise their English.
Some of the international students who come want to know about
Christianity, so The Barn offers Bible studies for those who are
interested.
The Barn closes in July and the first part of August. However,
in these times two other clubs for international students are open
which meet in the city centre: Harry's next door to Holy Trinity
church and Andy's in the Stone Yard Centre on St Andrew's street.

I was part of the Barn team for 13 years, before I emigrated to
Canada. It meant a great deal to me. If you do visit the Barn, you
can expect a warm welcome. Do please tell one of the organizers
that you have seen this web-site.
