These drives use superior magnetic flux vector control, providing constant torque during acceleration/deceleration previously impossible with conventional general-purpose inverters. One of the usefull applications is for the replacement of the vari-speed drives such as used on knee mills (Excello or Bridgeport). Where a fixed pulley can be fitted in place of the eventually troublesome vari speed pulleys.
The original motors can usually be run at 120hz (double the original speed ).
They are also useful for Lathe or Drill Press Spindle control.
The can be programmed for manual speed operation, or, on CNC machines, they can accept an analogue input for 'S' commands and M03, M04, M05 etc.
