The Director of Training and Education
Maria Gomori, M.S.W., Ph.D., Dip.C., is a family therapist in private practice and a retired Associate Professor in
the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Manitoba's Faculty of Medicine. Maria also is a Clinical Member and Approved Supervisor with the American Association of
Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT).
Maria was a close associate of Virginia Satir for over 20 years, and has been a Faculty
Member and Advanced Trainer in Satir's Avanta International Training Institute since 1981.
In that capacity, Maria has established a reputation internationally as a workshop leader,
and has taught and demonstrated the Satir Model throughout Canada, the United States,
Europe, South America, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Australia. Maria is also a certified
practitioner and Master Programmer in Neurolinguistic Programming. She co-authored
with Virginia Satir and colleagues, The Satir Model; Family Therapy and Beyond.
This
book was chosen by the AAMFT Foundation to receive the 1994 Satir Education and
Research Prize. Maria has been instrumental in establishing Satir Institutes in Winnipeg,
Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Australia, and is in great demand internationally for her
workshops and training programs.
Maria has a unique and creative way of integrating Satir with her learnings from many other great teachers combined
with her own experiences in living. She facilitates the Journey to Self workshops and co-leads the
Satir Model Training Program with Gilles Beaudry
Maria has recently published her autobiography, Passion for Freedom, Maria's Story.

Gilles Beaudry, PhD., Director of Counselling,
Service de Conseiller, Marriage and Family Therapist/Consultant, is an Approved Supervisor with the American Association of Marriage
and Family Therapy, L'Association des psychothérapeutes conjugaux et familiaux du Québec and a professor at Collège Universitaire de Saint-Boniface.
He has worked with great teachers in the Satir Model, Virginia Satir, Maria Gomori and John Banmen. Gilles founded Service de Conseiller in 1979.
He also has been leading men's groups since 1985. Gilles has developed his own creative way of integrating Satir with his leanings from many other teachers
combined with his own experiences in living and teaching. Gilles facilitates the Unfolding Self workshop.
Pat Bragg, Is a mediator,
counsellor and educator who has facilitated workshops in communication and conflict resolution for more than 30 years.
She has incorporated elements of Virginia Satir's transformation process into her work with corporations, families and
individuals. Pat has a B.A. from Macquarie University, Sydney Australia and a B.Ed. in Counselling from Brandon
University. She has also been certified by the Justice Institute of British Columbia in Mediation and Negotiation Skills.
Jeremy Kredentser, Currently on the Board of Manitoba Satir Institute, he is
dedicated to spreading the Satir model. For the past 20 years he has studied with Maria Gomori and others. Other
experiential trainings include Master Practitioner in NLP and Hypnotherapy with Milton Erickson Foundation.
Jeremy has a BA (Psych) and M.D. from the University of Alberta and post graduate studies at the University of Alberta,
University of Manitoba and Harvard. He practices at Heartland Fertility and Gynecology Clinic.
Janine Tougas, has a Master in Education, specializing in counselling from
the University of Manitoba and a Master in Fine Arts specializing in Puppetry from Connecticut College. She has over 500
credited hours of study in Virginia Satir's work and has integrated Satir's principles in many programs for parents,
teachers and young people through Canada. Janine is the author of the new resource manual "Yes, Santa Claus, There is a
Virginia"
