The Virginia Satir Global Network

In 1977, Virginia founded the Avanta Network, a non-profit educational organization whose members represent a wide range of professions. The Avanta mission is to support, connect, and empower people and organizations through the Satir Growth Model to respect differences, transform conflicts, develop possibilities for change and growth, and enable people to take responsibility for their own lives, health, work and relationships. Avanta is the umbrella organization for the Manitoba Satir Institute and sponsors workshops, advanced training programs, and international summer training institutes and conferences for professionals around the world.

Currently, there are 250 Avanta members in over 18 countries as well as 26 international Satir Institutes. Members come from a wide variety of professional fields and life-styles.
