CALDWELL
John Caldwell (Jack Glawson's Grandfather)
John Caldwell was born at Renfreshire, near Paisley Scotland. He married Elizabeth Newton Forrest. They had twelve children, the youngest being Christina Paul Collins Caldwell (Jack's mother) who was born March 9, 1892. John delivered rural mail. They lived in an old castle at Dalmuir Scotland. He died there in 1903.
Elizabeth Newton Forrest (Jack's grandmother)
Elizabeth was born in 1853 in Northern Ireland, county of Antrim Limbaldy. At an early age she moved to Scotland with her parents. She married John Caldwell and they had twelve children. Her husband John died in 1903 when her youngest child Christina was 11 years old. In 1917, she accompanied her granddaughters, Lizzie and Mary Campbell (her daughter Mary's children) to Hartney, Manitoba Canada. Her daughters Forrest (Flo) and Christina had emigrated to Canada in 1913. For a number of years she lived with her daughter and son-in-law Christina and Hailey Glawson. Later she moved to live in the town of Hartney, Manitoba. She died there in 1929 and her body was buried in Riverside Cemetery, Hartney, Manitoba.
