Ambush!
~ Scenarios for Kill Zone, Combat Zone, or other urban combat games ~

The Game

This is a simple ambush scenario:

Force B is retiring to their home base and safety. Their mission is to get as many troops as possible across and off of the board, alive and un-suppressed.

Force A is trying to stop them. Their mission is to destroy as many Force B troops as possible.

The Forces

Any force types can be used with this scenario.

Each side should have an equal points value, and up to three squads per side.

Set up

Place terrain evenly across the entire table, the more the better. There should be no open killing zones of fire, just lots of obstacles. Although the map shown is a generic urban landscape, it can be fought using wasteland terrain just as effectively.

Ambushers (Force A) set up first, at least 12" from side B.

Force B enters at edge B, and has initative in the first turn.

Roll for initiative as usual after first turn.

Time Limits

Variable: Measure the distance of game area from edge B to edge C divide the total inches by 10, (round down). The result is the total turns allowed by the opposition to complete their mission. (64 inch table: divide by 10 equals 6.4 : round down = 6 turns)

This means that the opposing side will have to issue run orders for at least part of the game, to make it off of the board in time.

At the end of the time limit, total up the points.

Victory Conditions

Force A

Each foe killed or suppressed at game end : 1 point

Force B

Each unsuppressed figure off of edge C : 3 points
