| Vending Machines
These are simply made by gluing machine faces printed on my computer to wooden blocks from a dollar store. The sides are then painted to match the front. I am pleased with the slogans: 'Go Postal' and 'Soylent Green is People. Now With Supermodels."

Clothesline 2 posts, a piece of wire, and some fabric make this not very convincing piece of detail. I attempted to make a 25mm bra with little success. I intend to make a few without the poles & bases to string between buildings. They'll look good, but may get in the way more than they are worth. |

Pallets & Containers
The pallets are each made from 11 20mm pieces of craft stick wood. They are then stained with various shades of ink. They should be rectangular rather than square, but I didn't know any better at the time. The containers are turned wooden milk cans from the same craft store. I painted them white with different coloured caps, and added labels from my computer. They would also do as covered trash receptacles. |

Radar Dish Simply plastic scrap and wire mesh, on a GW base. It doesn't look that bad, but was built as a dummy transmitter to lure some government troops into an ambush. It was quite successful. |

| The Tower
Although it looks like a guard tower, it was actually intended as the control/light tower for a concert in the park. (You have to do something with all the "rocker" figures in the near future ranges: BAND WARS!) The roof comes off, and several spikes not intended to do so have done so. |

The Stagefont Merely a pile of dirt covered with plywood and equipped with anti-fan spikes. Gosh! It looks like a bunker! It has a tower! It's fun watching players approaching like it's a real threat. Without the music it's not. |

Vehicles One of the micro fleet vehicles was a Star Trek shuttlecraft with 2 25mm figures. It was too small to be an actual shuttlecraft, but it made a fine flying truck/van. I chose to paint one as a private vehicle, one as a police/ambulance, and one as a broadcast vehicle. (You have to do something with all the media types in the near future ranges) |

Billboard I cut a rectangle of heavy cardboard (2-3mm) as the basis for this piece, and glued it to a base of the same material. I added an ad from a UK men's mag, and used craft wood to make a frame, a walkway, and the bracing/supports at the back. If I'd used foamcore for the body, I could have made the sign double-sided. The sign can free-stand or be placed atop a building. Under the walkway is a nice nesting place for Scavs. |

Dollar Shop Treasures | ||
|
I found 1/64th scale Hummvees and school buses for $1.50 CDN each in local dollar shops. They can be used as is, repainted, or used as the basis for conversions. (One of the buses will probably be cut down to make a bank-style armoured truck.) There were other cars, etc. but THESE were of use to me. Check your local shops! I thought the streets didn't look cluttered enough, so I looked for street accessories. I found packs of road signs of a good size, prepainted and with attached bases. Perfect! | |
|
I put rubberized magnet on the bases, and have been putting steel plates on my building bases for the signs. Otherwise I place then on steel washers for stability. K-Line and Lionel have some lamp standards that I've been looking at, and some accessory packs with park benches, mailboxes, etc. They are a bit pricey, and I think I'd rather make my own. |

Hero-Clix
There are some 'Hero-Clix' Superhero accessories that are in scale and useful ( a dumpster and a US mailbox) but most are not too well-scaled, and they are VERY pricey!
