Here is the most exciting section of our Hobby Shop pages! We have so many old parts that we can't list them all here, but we'll try and put on as much as possible. As we locate and inventory more items, we'll add them here.
Postage is a big cost in getting the goods to you - one part can cost the same as a dozen for shipping - here in Canada we pay a minimum for a small packet of $4.40 (up to 30 grams), but only $7.40 for 100 grams weight (same size carton). So the more you put in the shipping box, the less per item it costs to send!
However, if you are buying a part for $10, when the actual current market is $20, then the cost of shipping becomes of little consequence, doesn't it?

So here are some items that we think are extra special, and in demand by experimenters and old-type radio buffs:-

FERRI-LOOPSTICKS .... yep, the original kind you'd have found back in the 50's and 60's.... These are HIGH Q ANTENNA LOOP COILS for the Broadcast Band - SELFIX Cat. No. 5205 (Made in Japan). "The "Q" at 550KC and 1000KC is 220, which is much superior to that of the average commercial loop or antenna coil. This means higher gain and better sensitivity." The coil is non-directional. For good pickup of the signal, there is a 12" wire attached to the coil. An additional 5 to 6 feet of wire may be added. It comes with a metal bracket, which holds the coil by pushing the tinnerman clip into the 5/16" hole until the retaining clips click into place. The small tongue in the center of one side of the clip goes into the hole. Bracket mounting screws are also included. A tap is provided on the coil to match the low impedance load of a crystal detector or a transistor input (base element). The tuning condenser is connected across the total winding." These units are in original packing with instruction sheet. Limited quantity (just a few left). $5.00 CDN/US each, plus shipping charge. To see a picture, click here.
