Toronto, April 23, 2006 -- Generation is a new kind of website, designed from the ground up for young Canadian Anglicans.
Look for blogs, coming events in all parts of the country, interactive features, polls, scripture reflections, creative expressions and more.

The site will include a number of blogs, or web logs, from young people from across Canada. It will also include a blog from the Primate with weekly entries, a first for the Anglican Communion.

This isn't a site full of content that adults think young people should read; this is a site full of content that young Anglicans will generate themselves. Any young person or any adult concerned with youth issues can register on the site and contribute to it. The content of the site is continually renewed, so there are always new things to read and comment on.

You are welcome to comment on someone else's blog, including the Primate's; you can add a thought in response to a Question of the Week or start a discussion forum, connect with other young people in all parts of the country, look for events or advertise events in your region. You can post resources or request ideas for something you need. There will be lots more to check out.

The site is intended for Anglican young people, age 14 and over and those who minister with them.

SUNDAY PARKING AT D-JAY'S: The management of DJ's Restaurant had kindly granted permission allowing our parishioners to park vehicles in their parking lot on Sundays, BUT DUE TO THE DEMOLITION WORK BEING DONE ON THIS PROPERTY, permission has now been rescinded. DJ's Restaurant is once again open for business, and solicits your visits.

The ST. CHAD"S CHIMES NEWSLETTER: can be found in the literature rack in the narthex (north side). Take one if you haven't already received one, or wish an extra copy for a friend.

PARISH EVENTS:
TWO-BIRD DINNERS: Previously, every second Sunday of each month, Lynne Gould would take names from people wishing to host, or be a guest, in our Two-Bird Dinner project. We were holding these dinners on an ongoing basis over the year, rather than just over one or two weekends in early Spring, to give every parishioner a better chance to be part of this project.
UPDATE: In order to stimulate more interest in this project, Vestry is discussing a possible startup in a new format.

BINGO WORKERS are required from ST. CHAD'S Either volunteer as a convenor for one month at a time, or to work approx. once every eight weeks. No training necessary - you will be given full instructions.
There is a special request for CANTEEN WORKERS during Bingo games. Workers are needed on Thursday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. They will be called on a rotational basis, approx. once every two months.
This is a major fund-raising project of the Assiniboia Christian Centre requiring volunteers from both parishes.
If you are able to help out, please call Chris McAuley at 837-6806.
There is now "No Smoking", so it makes working Bingo that much more pleasant and fun!
Let's show a St. Chad's presence at the Bingo nights! Some monies raised help to offset the costs of the A.C.C., which benefit us!

Sanctuary Flags: At our Remembrance Day Service on November 11th, 2002, Monsignor Chartrand and Father Shields blessed the new flags in our Sanctuary:
the PAPAL FLAG (Gold & White) which features the Coat-of-Arms of Vatican City (the Papal Tiara [crown] and the Keys of the Kingdom [Matthew, XVI, 19] and
the ANGLICAN CHURCH OF CANADA FLAG- the red cross represents the Cross of St. George, indicating the origin of the church in the Church of England; the four green maple leafs represent the four ecclesiastical provinces in the church: Canada, Ontario, Rupert's Land, B.C. & Yukon.
the Canadian Flag and the Flag of the Province of Manitoba.
All of these flags will remind us of our faith heritage and our earthly citizenship.

BULLETIN ANNOUNCEMENTS DEADLINE: All bulletin announcements, changes or deletions are to be in the hands of Audrey Kelly by 9 a.m. on Thursdays (e-mail: kellys130@shaw.ca.
They can be phoned in to her- delivered to her personally (to her home, or at church) - or placed in her FILE FOLDER in the ACC office (under the front counter). Audrey is the one who prepares each weekly church bulletin.
You can also give your bulletin announcements to Gordon Shields, at 832-7195 (office), or leave in his church office before 9 a.m. on Thursdays.

CHURCH MAILING LIST CHANGES: If you wish to make a change in the roster register - name change or correction, change of address, an addition or deletion., these can be directed to Audrey Kelly (or left in her file folder in the office).
