Pianist, Kara Dixon, was born and raised in Boissevain, Manitoba. Studying both voice and piano, she attained a Bachelor of Music from Brandon University in 1993. Kara received a Masters in Piano Performance (Accompaniment and Chamber Music) from the University of Western Ontario in 2000. While in Ontario, Kara made her CBC Radio debut performing as part of a six-piano ensemble. She has worked with some of Canada's top opera singers and accompanied at the 1999 Metropolitan Opera Auditions in Buffalo, New York. Upon returning to Brandon in 2002, Kara continues to be sought after as a vocal coach and professional accompanist both at the Brandon University School of Music and in the surrounding community. Most recently she was the accompanist for the 2004 National Youth Choir of Canada. Kara is a member of the Manitoba Registered Music Teachers' Association and teaches piano, voice and music theory through the Eckhardt-Gramatté Conservatory of Music. Kara is very pleased to join tenor, Floyd Gadd, on her first CD project.
