ParkWest Regional Employment & Development Corporation

ORGANIZATION STRUCTURE:

The Parkwest Regional Employment & Development Corporation operates as a non-profit organization, with board representation from six defined areas within the region served - inclusive of: St. Lazare (francophone community), R.M. of Ellice, Hamiota, Rural Municipality of Hamiota, Shoal Lake, Rural Municipality of Shoal Lake, Birtle, Rural Municipality of Birtle, Foxwarren, Birdtail First Nation, Silver Creek Municipality, Rossburn, Rural Municipality of Rossburn, Waywayseecappo First Nation, Binscarth, Russell, Rural Municipality of Russell, Angusville, Gambler’s First Nation, Rural Municipality of Shellmouth/Boulton, and Inglis.


MISSION STATEMENT:

Since 1978, a number of community non-profit organizations contracted with Federal and Provincial government agencies to address employment and human resource development needs throughout the region. In 1999, after community round tables, and meetings with stakeholders, business, industry, Chambers of Commerce, and Business groups, a decision was made to incorporate as a Regional Board. A mission statement for the new organization was established that encompasses the broad vision of the regional organization.

This mission is achieved through:
Accommodating, anticipating, adapting to and proactively serving human resource needs.
Maximizing regional employment levels by facilitating and supporting dynamic community growth through:
- Cooperative and comprehensive employment services;
- Labour market skills enhancement activities;
- Human resource capacity building.
