David Lewis Andrews the son of Winnifred Andrews was born in Aruba in 1930. When David Lewis Andrews was 6 months old his mother Winnifred Andrews moved back to Grenada with David. David Lewis Andrews went to the St. Patrick's Anglican school before joining the Grenada Police Force in 1956. Growing up in Grenada David Lewis Andrews gained the Nickname Weekes from the famous Cricketer Sir Everton Weekes. As a teenager David Lewis Andrews was a great cricketer. He played some great cricket matches in the Mt Rich Cricket Grounds back in the late 40's early 50's. David Lewis Andrews was a well known figure in the Grenada Police Force. He was stationed in St. Georges, Victoria & Grenville. As a policeman David Lewis Andrews spent most of his years in the Grenville Police Station. Before retiring from the Grenada Police Force in 1979 David Lewis Andrews was appointed the Chief Inspector of Police by Eric Matthew Gairy in 1974. After retiring from the Grenada Police Force in 1979 David Lewis Andrews migrated to Brooklyn New York. David Lewis Andrews died in Brooklyn New York in 1992 by an unknown blood disease. His body was flown back to Grenada for burial and his funeral was recorded as the bigest funeral in the island of Grenada. David Lewis Andrews the husband of Ruby Andrews had 8 kids. He had 3 sons Emanuel also known as (day day boy), Leslie & Keith. 5 daughters Ann, Christine, Yvette, Alison & Lena. Most Grenadian know Inspector Andrews as Weekes.
