Thank you for the opportunity to introduce myself and my business to you!
I became interested in piano service because I found it so enjoyable to play a well-tuned piano. I have been a registered tuner-technician since 1984* with the Canadian Association of Piano Technicians. I trained through an apprenticeship under the late William (Bill) Weiss of Winnipeg, one of the foremost technicians and rebuilders in Western Canada at that time, prior to completing my certification examinations with the C.A.P.T. I spent 13 seasons as music director at Nipawin Bible College at Nipawin, Sask. My music background includes Royal Conservatory Gr. IX vocal and Gr. X piano standing (practical), and for some years I was a church choir director at MacGregor, Man.
A well-tuned and properly functioning piano is more enjoyable to play! I offer standard tuning in the equal-tempered scale, and can provide historic temperaments (alternate tuning systems in use when the music was composed). I am trained as an aural tuner, but also have electronic equipment to complement my skills. I provide action regulation and service adjustments, repairs and parts, and sales and installation of pianos, piano supplies and upgrades.
How can you extend the enjoyment of playing your piano and get better value for the dollars you spend on tuning and service? A Piano Life-Saver system will help your piano continue to sound more enjoyable between service appointments, and improve the life of your instrument. For pianos in churches and school in our Canadian prairie climates we recommend our custom climate control cover as well to extend the piano's longevity and help preserve its tuning stability. As I've realized with my own instrument, a fine acoustic piano is an investment of lifetime enjoyment, and a Piano Life-Saver system helps protect that investment!! You can view more information on the Piano Life-Saver page here on my website, or ask for a free, color brochure.
If I can answer any questions about how you can put the fun back into playing your piano, I'd be glad to speak with you!
Sincerely,
Ernest Unrau
