With the physical aspects of the project completed, the fund account has been closed out. We thank those who thoughtfully contributed to ensure this project could be realized. A granite cairn with plaque has been erected on the cemetery site. A dedication service was held Oct. 5, 2008. Also, as of Dec 3, 2008 a small, granite "pillow marker" has been installed in Winkler Cemetery to clarify the presence of the six headstones relocated from Kronsfeld Village Cemetery.

The following are components for the Kronsfeld Cemetery Memorial Project installation:

• Bronze plaque - 24 x 22 inches: Names (also maiden name where known) listed alphabetically, along with date of birth and date of death.
• Granite cairn - foundation, base, vertical tablet with angled face -- all granite construction
• Concrete Pad surrounding the cairn along with protective "guard" posts. The pad will prevent vegetation growth from encroaching on the cairn.
• Concrete piers with stainless steel bolts embedded. The piers mark the other three corners of the cemetery while the cairn marks the northwest corner.
• Granite "pillow" marker at Winkler Cemetery to clarify the existence of headstones relocated from Kronsfeld Village Cemetery.

A memorial dedication service at Kronsfeld Cemetery site was held on Oct. 5, 2008.

To date we are pleased to report that sufficient contribution enabled us to accomplish the main objectives of the project: obtaining and installing a bronze plaque mounted on a granite cairn, and recording the names of all the people whom we could verify had been interred in the Kronsfeld Village Cemetery.

In addition, enough funds were received to place an additional, small granite marker at the Winkler Cemetery. This marker clarifies the presence of and the names engraved on the headstones that were relocated to Winkler Cemetery from their original location at Kronsfeld Village Cemetery

Ongoing efforts of the Kronsfeld Cemetery Memorial Project will focus on compiling more genealogical information and submitting our research to the historical archives. That work will possibly resume in 2009/2010. If further need for assistance arises we will make that known on these pages. Thank you.
