Vineco's KenRidge Wine Kit captures Best of Show!NEWS FLASH - St. Catharines, ON – May 21, 2008 – Vineco International Products, a subsidiary of Andrew Peller Ltd. (TSX: ADW.A, ADW.B), can once again officially lay claim to creating the best wine made from a wine kit in all of North America.Long recognized for producing outstanding quality products for the consumer-made wine market, Vineco recently had its KenRidge Classic Viognier wine judged as the top wine produced from a kit out of 4,321 entries at the largest amateur wine competition in the world. This marks the second time in the last 3 years of the competition that a Vineco wine has captured a Best-of-Show award. The wine was made by Kurtis Roy of Strathmore, Alberta, who also was awarded Winemaker of the Year at the competition’s awards gala in Sonoma, California. The competition was hosted by WineMaker Magazine, North America's largest consumer publication dedicated to amateur winemakers. Wine entries were judged by a panel of professional wine judges in a blind tasting using the well-recognized U-C Davis 20 point wine scoring system. Not only did the judges present Vineco with the competition’s highest award for its KenRidge Classic Viognier wine, Vineco’s wine kits also were awarded an additional 53 medals in various categories. “Receiving the Best-of-Show award for our KenRidge Classic Viognier is a tremendous honour in light of the number of quality wine kits in the competition. In addition, our newest wine kit brand, Cheeky Monkey took home a Gold Medal for Australian Shiraz which is outstanding considering the brand is less than a year old. I carry the most popular brands of fruit flavored wines, which are a lot like the Arbor Mist you can buy in the liquor store, and just straight red, white and blush, but I can order in any type of wine you like. I just don't carry them all for space considerations. I also have the other little quirks that you will find necessary for your brew making, check them out under supplies. If you filter your wine, I rent out the filtering machine and corker, just make sure that it isn't already booked for that day. If you make red wine, I will probably save you some effort by recommending the latest super clearing agent. We no longer have an Interac machine, but will accept cheques.
