Grand Opening Tips

1) When you call someone out of the blue...either get to the point of why you're calling or forget it!! Too much humming and hawing will take away from your objective and make it impossible to finally bring it up in the remaining of the conversation after they've said, "Okay, it was great talking to you....blah blah blah, we'll have to get together..." It's over at that point and the opportunity (your reason for calling in the first place) is gone.

2) Get to the point right off the bat (to prevent the previous scenario.) "I have this great business opportunity that I want you to take a look at...it's not important that you buy anything, it's not important that you join, it's important though that you just take a look and see for yourself."

3) If the conversation is dragging and going nowhere....GET OFF THE PHONE! Remember, you're sharing a great opportunity, not a desperate situation on your part to be fulfilled. These people on your Grand Opening List are friends, co-workers, ex-co-workers, acquaintances, ex-acquaintances, relatives, etc.....Present the opportunity and get out of there!! Too much time to fill the gaps in the conversation can only bring awkwardness. Besides, if it's such a Great Opportunity, why do you still have so much time to sit there and shoot the breeze after you're done "presenting" it?

3) Present it once, then leave it alone.

4) Then when they ask you about it (out of sheer curiosity) 3-6-12 months later, say nothing except, "It's a phenomenal business! It's going excellent!"

5) MAKE YOUR DECISION BEFORE YOU MAKE THE CALL on whether you're going to lead with weight loss or the business opportunity (NOT DURING THE CALL!) Jim always advises to lead with the WFH opportunity, and there's a reason why him and Moe are Presidents Team!

6) DON'T MAKE THE MISTAKE of not asking for referrals....the people on your Grand Opening List ARE people you know. If you see a dead call in the making, just say, "Hey, well, if you know anyone who might be interested in making some extra money, can you pass on my website or give me their phone # so I can help them?"

7) And don't do what I did. Don't put all your eggs in one basket. The Grand Opening is to be done on top of, above and beyond your regular advertising, whether it be classifieds or manual type advertising....IT IS NOT TO BE IN PLACE OF.

8) It is something to be done consistently. You might get a new hairdresser, a new teacher for your kids, a new anyone for anything....THAT PERSON IS SOMEONE YOU CAN TALK TO WHO NOW KNOWS YOU! A Grand Opening doesn't necessarily have to mean you sitting down with a pad of 100 names!!

I learned a lot from doing my Grand Opening and am hoping my experience can help someone else.
