Residential Design

    David Wagner Associates has been in-volved in the design and implementation of residential gardens since 1978. The projects have ranged in scale from intimate small lot in-ner city gardens to intensive landscapes com-plete with pools, fountains, buildings and intri-cate site grading.

    A common goal in all residential gardens is to address the dichotomy between the creation of an outdoor environment that is aesthetically pleasing and functionally sound, and the adher-ence to budget controls for construction and long term maintenance.

    Typically the design process will start with a site visit. A visual assessment of opportunities and constraints is made and a photographic in-ventory developed. A client/consultant discus-sion will result in a design program and wish list. Sketches are most often used to present theßßß initial concepts. Detailed design, con-struction budgets, project tendering and con-struction management may complete the com-mission. In some cases, clients prefer to have a master plan developed and implement the pro-ject themselves over a period of time. Residen-tial projects are done on an hourly basis.
