Here's a few photos of the car. The first is at the seller's place just before it was picked up.

Of interest on the data plate is the paint code of 551, which is a 1940 paint code of Silver upper and Monterey Blue lower.

Sign

This is a sign that the previous owner made since many in the general public don't know what it is.

We haven't gone through all the material and spare parts yet, but the previous owner kept very good records. We now have to try and keep that going.

The history of the car as it was relayed to us is the original owner lived in southern Minnesota in the Rochester region. The car was sold to a gentleman who lived in Rochester. In 1998, it was purchased and brought to Winnipeg. That makes us the fourth owners.

The car is currently in driver condition and that is likely how we will keep it for the next few years. In due course, it will need a bit of body work and paint at minimum. The interior is in very nice shape overall.

Derek drove this car the day it was picked up. Learning to use a 3 on the tree was fairly easy. Overall, once the shifting fell into place, it was a very pleasant drive on a nice spring day.

1941 was a year of change for Buick. Bodies were restyled and the sedanette, as well as Jetback (or Torpedo) sedan styling was introduced. It was also the first year for a one piece hood that could be opened from either side. Compound carburetion was also introduced in 1941, with a two carburetor setup. It was offered on the Special series with SE or SSE models. SE stands for Super Equipment as this was offered on the higher end Super line.
