shiels008006.jpg Meryl Harris was our link with the local history as she knew all the members of the Shiels family that ran the show business. Her son Ron even made arrangements to have the museum opened. Meryl was born a Shiels and she is a great grand-daughter of William James Shiels. Thanks Meryl for all your help.

Our week in the area would not have been successful without the help of cousin David French of Carluke. David operates his own Painting and Decorating business and took time off work to meet us at the airport and tour us around all week. David's mother was a Shiels and he is a great great grandson of William James Shiels.

David, we will never forget all your help!
