Curriculum of Master Jones' Taekwondo
The ranking system is designed to help gauge individual growth based on his/her own experience.
Testing: The curriculum is set for each rank level and testing is held every 3 months or so for those students who meet the criteria. Each student will know what to expect.
The beginner's curriculum includes basic punching, blocking, kicking and warm up drills. Here we learn about long range, short range techniques. Our physical conditioning builds balance, strength, and flexibility for the martial arts to come.
In the intermediate course, our fighting range now begins to include takedowns, rides, submissions, and escapes. At this level, the practical self-defense aspect of study becomes more apparent and applicable.
The advanced course is intensified to include submission grappling and contact sparring. Students who reach the advance rank's now share added responsibilities: helping to lead basic classes and assisting in instruction as well as organizing special events.
"RANK IS BASED ON EXPERIENCE, NOT MONEY"
The black belt is the beginning of a new stage, which leads to higher black belt ranks for true mastery.
