April 30, 2009 - Lucky Brand
I had recently come across a brand called Lucky Brand which sells clothing, accessories, bags, and jewelery for both men and women. I've provided a link to check them out if you're interested. They don't seem to be a hugely popular brand yet, as I've only come across one store here where I live. They sort of have this "individual" style going on, where certain pieces can suite several needs. What I mean is that there are 'skater' looks, 'gangster' looks, and even simple/casual looks. They cover a larger scale of styles rather than catering to only one. I do have to admit that some of the styles are rather funky, such as the wallets, but then I personally like a bit of splash in an otherwise generic look. I do have to say that I really like their cherry blossom pants.
When it comes to sizes, that's the only wide range Lucky Brand doesn't have. It's pretty standard actually from XS-XL. Unfortunately, people of larger sizes are out of luck here. I'm somewhat of a larger size myself, so I understand the frustration of finding great looking clothes, but unable to slide them on. But of course, if the clothes don't work for you, there is always the accessories. I mean, you don't have to be a certain size to have a great purse right?
I guess one thing I'm really not happy about is the prices! Holy cow! This is however coming from someone who is more of a bargain shopper than a huge spender. But I have heard from people that these are becoming the new fashion-forward prices. For those prices, I hope they'd last long and remain good quality! Yikes! But I think that these prices won't help, especially with the whole economic situation and the lack of spending from everyday consumers. I JUST got a job myself after a several month gap and even now I can't see myself whipping out my card and screaming "CHARGE IT!" with a $100+ bill. Some people, sure they can do that, and all power to them. Me, well not so much.
To sum it up, Luck Brand has some actually really neat styles, but my main concern is the price I would be paying. What do you guys think? Have you ever shopped here? Is the price worth the quality?
