Hi there!! I have written and have had published the following Children's books. I am still working diligently on these pages to keep them updated with more FREE printable children's activities. I also plan on sharing my writing style and the process of writing a picture story book.
I write and publish under my maiden name "Deborah L. Delaronde". I decided to do this to honor my "Metis " heritage. A lot of my stories are historical in setting and focus around either Metis protagonist, a Metis setting and/or situation. It is my hope that these stories will convey "the way of life" of the Metis people in early Canadian history. I have also written two books that are not Metis themed. One is titled 'Friendship Bay' and is a touching story about building friendships. The other book is titled 'The Rabbit's Race' and has a powerful message about the value and importance of grandparents.

I will be retiring effective August 31, 2012 from my job as librarian at Duck Bay School, Manitoba. I am planning on visiting schools in Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta through the 2012 - 2013 school year while I'm still able to travel independently. If you would like to arrange an author visit for your school or public library, please email debfalk@mymts.net  or mail at:

It is always better to book at least 2 - 3 months in advance or ideally during the months of July and August when Arts Council funding is available. Depending on the request, if sufficient notice is given, I can apply for Arts Council funding to cover my travel expenses.  If you live in a small town or city where there are other schools and public libraries, I would appreciate a coordinated connection to these other venues with a detailed schedule of my time. I look forward to working with you, your students and community members.

To place an order for any of my books, please visit McNally Robinson Book Store at http://www.mcnallyrobinson.com or visit my publisher websites at http://www.theytus.com or http://www.pemmican.mb.ca   for detailed book information.
