DAVIDSON

The DAVIDSON family came from Findochty, Banffshire (now Moray), in northern Scotland.

William Davidson, Grampa's dad, about 1890.  

He was born 10 May 1837 in Muir of Findochty, Banffshire, Scotland, the son of John Davidson and Elspet Bremner. He  died 3 August 1925 in Oxenden, Grey County, Ontario.

Entry in the Old Parish Register for Rathven, Banffshire, Scotland for the birth of my great-grandfather, William Davidson.

10th May 1837

The entry reads:'Davidson/ John Davidson in Muir of Findochty had by his wife Elspet Bremner a son baptized & named William.  Witnesses Wm Davidson and Mary Lowe."

TThe marriage entry for his parents, John Davidson and Elspet Bremner. My great-great grandparents.

21st March 1826

The entry reads: 'Davidson/ John Davidson and Elspet Bremner  were matri-monially contracted and after publication of Banns were married.'

My great-gramma, Elizabeth Castles Davidson, with her son Len, my grampa. Taken about 1886. 

Elizabeth was born 12 May 1842 in Keith, Banffshire, Scotland, the daughter of James Castles and Isabella George.  She died 1 October 1921 in Oxenden, Ontario.  She and William are buried at Oxenden.
