5th Season Summary

For Australian Fans

[September 1st 1994]

Somewhere in the dimly lit offices of SNPP, Charles Montgomery Burns hears
rumours on a.t.s. that Channel Ten may not show 5th season any time soon...

Burns: What!? Blast Channel Ten's hide to Hades!
          [thunder roars somewhere outside]
          Smithers! Smmmmmitttthheeerss! [Smithers comes running]
Smithers: Sir?
Burns: [pacing the room in front of his desk]
We can't let those boobs at Channel Ten do this to our Australian
          fans.
Smithers: You want Channel Ten killed?
Burns: Relax, Smithers. [pause] Later perhaps. Call my lawyers!
Smithers: Yes sir. [leaves]
   Burns: [peering out window]
Yes, let's see how these cretins at Channel Ten like a browbeating
          from my troglodytes.
[thunder roars as Burns laughs diabolically]

[January 12th 1995]

Smithers stood beside the large oak desk belonging to his boss, Mr. Burns.
Despite a lack of a smile, Smithers could tell Burns was in a good mood.

Burns: Oh, hey there, Smithers! Good news for our Australian friends --
Channel Ten is going to start showing 5th season.
Smithers: Oh, good sir.
Burns: Yes, the weekly beatings seem to have finally paid off!
This calls for a cerebration -- Smithers, bring me a wine spritzer!
Smithers: Yes sir.

{parody - not to be taken seriously.}
