Charleswood Mennonite Church has its beginnings in 1963 as a daughter congregation of Bethel Mennonite Church. At first the church met in the Chapman School in the Charleswood area of Winnipeg and then bought land on the corner of Haney and Eldridge.
Today we have about 300 members including a strong Korean presence, which started in 1996 with the arrival of several families from Korea. We are a part of Mennonite Church Manitoba, Mennonite Church Canada and Mennonite Central Committee. Our pastoral staff includes one full time pastor, John Braun, and two part-time Associate Pastors, Jeff Friesen whose focus is Youth and Young Adults and Heemyeong (Paul) Kang who focuses on ministry to Koreans. Our congregation has strong representation from all the generations. We have activities and opportunities for all age groups . Our beliefs are reflected in the Confession of Faith in a Mennonite Perspective.
