The Treasured Family Recipes Cookbook was created by the Christ Our Savour Ladies Auxiliary.
This fantastic collection is full of hundreds of recipes from all across Canada. Here is just one sample:

Never-fail Pastry
5 cups flour
1 tsp. baking powder
Mystery Ingredient
3/4 tsp. salt
1 lb. Tenderflake lard
2 tbsp. vinegar
1 egg
1 cup cold water

Mix flour, baking power, salt and mystery ingredient. Crumble
in lard until well mixed. Add vinegar, egg and water into mixture.
Cover and let rest in fridge for 1 hour or so. Makes enough for 3-9 inch
or 4-8 inch double crust pies. Freezes well when made into balls,
enough for one crust wrapped in wax paper.

Proceeds of this project will go to help fundraise for the National Evangelization Team (NET)
that will be staying in our parish for 8 months in the Fall of 2010. They will be helping us
build a strong youth program for our children. We would appreciate your support.
