Say It, Sista!'s been on the air since June 2002. We've had a lot of
fun since then, talked to lots of cool people and learned a few things.
Here's what we did/said in 2002. (Note: we've aired every single week, but synopses for some weeks are missing. Sorry.)

We discuss an online letter written to Rolling Stone magazine in
response to their "Women in Rock" issue, and how the artists
chosen as the top women in rock aren't really rock at all, let alone
decent musicians. We played Jill Scott, who made the list, to demonstrate
just how not-rock she is (though she is completely fabulous and
totally awesome regardless.) Then we played the Yeah-Yeah-Yeahs.

MP for Winnipeg South Centre,) Heather Stefanson (Conservative MLA
for Tuxedo) and Joan Grace (UW Politics Department) on to discuss
See Jane Run, a women in politics conference happening on Friday.
Despite the cosmic disalignment of having a right-wing Liberal and
a Conservative in the CKUW studio, it went very well, and it was
great to talk about the experiences of women and the political system.

and different ways of looking at child-rearing.

We air an interview with Shawna Dempsey and Lorri Millan of Ace
Art, taped live at the Grocery Store exhibit back in August. A terrific
discussion about urban renewal and policy.

Alternative Menstruation products. We talk about options available
to women besides tampons, like the keeper, sea sponges, and reusable
pads. This show also was the debut of our theme song, Kinnie Starr's
"Bela."
