Volleyball Coach's Page

NOTE - DECEMBER 26, 2008

Just wanted to let you all know that I've "retired" from coaching volleyball. I came to the realization that coaching was and has been affecting my health, both mentally & physically, and is starting to negatively affect my performance at work. When you volunteer for something that is supposed to be fun and it is no longer fun, it's time to get out.

This decision was culminating over the past couple of years and I kept thinking that the next time would be better, but it never was.

It's time for me to look at other aspects of my life and see where I can strengthen myself. I've lost my heart & passion for coaching the sport, but will continue to play for exercise.

I will continue to maintain the site and may write an article or two about coaching. Please feel free to make any comments or suggestions about the website.

Finally, thanks for your support of this website. Thanks to those who have supported me as a coach in the past and support my decision to step down.

Colin

I've had a few articles of mine e-mailed by the Yes, I Can Volleyball (http://www.yesicansports.com) website. All of them are in PDF format. I'd like to thank Dave Cross for his help with these articles:

I have been a booster club supporter of one of the local universities. The University of Winnipeg has one of the best volleyball programs in the country, with thanks to Larry McKay (men's volleyball head coach) & Diane Scott (women's volleyball head coach) and their respective coaching staff.
