Cindi was signed to a recording contract by Don Grashey in January, 1988. Well known and respected in the country music business, Grashey also discovered and produced hit records for Myrna Lorrie and Carroll Baker, as well as recording Loretta Lynn's very first record. Since working with Grashey, Cindi has had many releases which were all on the Canadian and American country music charts, and her recordings have been played in countries around the world - including England, Germany, France, Sweden, Holland, and Australia.
Cindi has appeared on many television shows over the years, including The Tommy Hunter Show, Big Sky Country with Ray St. Germain, and Jimmy King Presents. Cindi has also made appearances on many telethons and has performed on the Canadian Country Music Awards broadcast on the C.B.C. Cindi won the Manitoba Association of Country Artists (MACA) Entertainer of the Year award four times, their Recording Artist of the Year award four times as well, their Female Vocalist of the Year award three times, and their Single of the Year award for her hit, "Fiddle Texas Style." Cindi and her band, The Cheeters, won Country Band of the Year as well as the Coors Fan Award for most popular band. Cindi was nominated Country Female Vocalist by the R.P.M. Big Country Awards, as well as the Vista Rising Star Award at the Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) Awards.
Many fans will remember the 1990 Epic release of Cindi's first CD, "A Place Where Memories Live." The album contained the hit singles, "Once The Magic's Gone," "Two More On The Dance Floor," and "You Were Listening To The Singer," which was a top five hit across Canada and nominated as Song of the Year at the CCMA Awards. The two videos released from the album, "Fiddle Texas Style" and "Field of Dreams," aired on Much Music, The Nashville Network, Club Dance, Country Video Show, and the C.B.C.'s Country Beat. "A Place Where Memories Live" was also released in London, England on Cottage Records.
Never forgetting her prairie roots, Cindi and her band played fair dates, conventions, clubs and rodeos all across Canada throughout the nineties. Some of the more memorable gigs included the Craven Jamboree in Saskatchewan, the Austin Reunion, Morris Stampede, and The Pas Trappers Festival in Manitoba, the Grey Cup Convention Wild Blitz Winnipeg '91, the Country Music Hall of Fame Show in Ontario, the Calgary Stampede in Alberta, and Canada Day Celebrations. Cindi opened shows for country entertainers such as John Anderson, Johnny Lee, Tanya Tucker, Sawyer Brown, and Blue Rodeo. An especially memorable event for Cindi was when she was asked to represent Canada at Nashville's week long Fan Fair in 1991. It was the most successful Fan Fair ever with daily attendance of 25 thousand! Cindi was nominated Female Vocalist of the Year for the 1992 Juno Awards, and Top Country Female Artist at the Big Country Awards in Toronto.
Since then, Cindi, with her lively stage presence and rare and unique voice, has been kept busy showcasing her talents in different genres: jazz, pop, rock 'n' roll, and, of course, country. Cindi performs at various venues in and around Winnipeg, as well as at private functions. Cindi was honored to be chosen entertainer for the grand opening of the Esplanade Riel in Winnipeg's French Quarter. As owner/operator of The VoiceShack - her vocal coaching studio in Winnipeg - Cindi is kept busy helping aspiring singers achieve their goals both on stage and in the recording studio.
