BONE TOSS

Bone Tossing was practised through out Turtle Island. These games first taught independance and observation skills, physical finesse, and then social and strategy based lessons.

Examples of animal parts used for Bone Tossing are: the toe knuckles of deer or caribou, beaver and rodent skulls, shoulder blades, rib bones, sinew, bone and vertabrae. These activities are examples of intra and inter personal games played to develop skills of observation and finesse. When playing in a social setting wagers could be made and stories shared
