Youth Advisory Committee (YAC)

The Youth Advisory Committee held a raffle before Christmas with all proceeds of $300 being donated to the Salvation Army
Christmas Cheer Fund. Raffle prizes were as follows: 1st Prize of a Play Station 3 to Rob Scott of Eden;
2nd Prize of a Kobo e-reader to Brian Fischer of Minnedosa; 3rd Prize of $50 to Desirae Knoll of Glenella.

Rachel Cluett, Courtney Gilmore, Chelsea Wehrhahn, Bruce Menzies (teacher advisor for YAC) .

The members are currently planning a fund raiser to help the Roxy Theatre. They will also be distributing $2,500 in grants on
June 5/12 at the Grants Evening

The Youth Advisory Committee at Neepawa Collegiate is in its tenth year of operation. 
It has given out $20,000 in 49 grants to local organizations. These young people investigate charitable
organizations in Neepawa and area and then annually recommend $2,500  in grants.  Other organizations
supported by the YAC have included the Roxy Theatre, Margaret Laurence Home, Budz 'n Bloom Day-care,
Viscount Cultural Council and Neepawa Palliative Care. We are building a foundation for philanthropy in our community.
