Shane Hnidy

Shane was born and raised in Neepawa. His parents Ed and Diana still call Neepawa home. He played minor hockey in Neepawa before moving to the WHL and then the NHL. He recently signed with the Boston Bruins after recuperating from an injury.

This was the tenth year Shane has lent his support to the community through the Shane Hnidy Charity Golf Tournament. It was held Thursday, August 11, 2011 at the Neepawa Golf Club. It was aTexas scramble with a shotgun start at 11:30 a.m. The event was limited to 38, four person teams with a celebrity assigned to each team. The event includes 18 holes of golf, cart rental, golf shirt, bus from Winnipeg if required and banquet dinner. After dinner there was a live auction of autographed jerseys and other interesting items. The entry fee is $150 per person. The tournament continues to be our biggest fund raiser, netting the foundation almost $200,000 so far. Email your entries to bpcfinc@mymts.net, call 476-2888 or enter at Harris Pharmacy.

Shane often joins the fun and brings one or two other players as well.
