French-Fried Chicken
1 cup flour
1cup water
½ teaspoon sugar
1 cup flour
½ teaspoon sa.1t
½ tablespoon paprika
1 egg
½ teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons cooking oil
1 2 ½ -3 lb. chicken
Combine dry ingredients, egg, oil and water; beat well. Dip chicken pieces in mixture of flour, paprika, and salt; let dry, then dip in batter. Fry in deep hot oil till outside is crisp and brown, 10-15 minutes. Drain on absorbent paper.
