Chicken Wings in Barbecue Sauce

12 fresh or frozen large chicken wings

2 tbs. lemon juice

2 tsp. salad oil

2 tbs. vinegar

½ cup diced onion

2 tbs. Worcestershire sauce

1 clove garlic, crushed

2 tbs. brown sugar

1 cup diced celery

1 tsp. dry mustard

½ cup diced green pepper

1 tsp. salt

3/4 Cup water

¼ tsp. pepper

1 cup smoke-flavored barbecue sauce or ketchup

Clip off tips of chicken wings. Heat the oil in a deep saucepan and brown the wings slowly, a few at a time turning until both sides are golden. Add the onion and garlic and fry until transparent. Return chicken wings to the saucepan, Mix, remaining ingredients together and pour over wings. Bring to a boil and simmer covered for 10 minutes. Pour into a casserole and bake at 350 F. for 1 hour or until chicken is tender. Baste occasionally with the sauce and add a little more water if necessary. Serve with rice or mashed potatoes.
