Dealing with Depression Naturally: Cover
Dealing with Depression Naturally is my attempt to provide depressives like myself - whether unipolar or bipolar - with a user's guide to the wide array of options we have for treating our condition naturally, with or without the help of "unnatural antidepressants."

This 6" X 9" paperback weighs in at 390 information-filled pages and is published by one of the leaders in the complementary and alternative medicine field, Keats Publishing. It's available on this website through Amazon.com and Chapters.ca.

More than ten years in the making, the first edition of Dealing with Depression Naturally, published in 1995, was a Doubleday Health Book Club Main Alternate and a selection of the Literary Guild. The second edition is greatly expanded and fully revised to reflect the state of the art in complementary and alternative depression therapy in the year 2000, from SAM-e and St. John's wort to transcranial magnetic stimulation. May the effort I put into this book be rewarded by the benefit you get out of it!

Sincerely,
Syd Baumel

This book does it better than the others. . . . All physicians ought to have it on their shelves.
Abram Hoffer, MD, PhD, Editor-in-Chief, Journal of Orthomolecular Medicine

The best presentation I've seen of antidepressant research. . . . The book is really a classic because it unveils the sheer number of possibilities that exist for a person with depression. . . .scientifically accurate and unbiased.

Erik Alexander Hanson, reader, Minneapolis

Your book is excellent - a treasure trove - but I find it difficult to know where to start!

a reader
. . .an eye-opener for those psychiatrists who are stuck in a narrow model of depression.
Harvey Ross, MD, author of Fighting Depression
The best book available for anyone desiring to treat depression naturally.
Amazon.com reader review

This book covers everything, and I mean everything in the realm of non-drug and non-electroshock therapies for depression. . . .It's also well-written, with very human flashes of humor.

Michele Mantynen
reader
...the author is not a doctor (just one of us). . .in my opinion this made it more pleasurable to read.
a reader
I carry your book around with me. . . .It's the sanest thing I've seen on depression. . .
a reader
Before committing firmly to any one approach, seek out and read this book. It may well be the first step to a complete solution.
