Film score composer John Adorney's debut solo album is about as good as New Age easy listening gets. It's feel-good music you don't have to feel bad about feeling good about. Perfectly produced and replete with tender melodies (Adorney is also a licensed music therapist), the eleven tracks are sensitively played on a pleasing balance of mostly acoustic instruments (including Adorney on cello, guitar, dulcimer, and Bruce Hornsbyesque piano), with dabs of dreamy "vocal textures."
Beckoning has rhythm too. And it's musically sophisticated enough to keep you from snoozing as you chill in front of the fireplace this winter.
