William Henry Atkinson
We understand that William Henry Atkinson emigrated to Canada and lived for a while in Ontario before moving west to Selkirk, Manitoba.
We find from his Manitoba Vital Statistics death certificate that he died in the Selkirk Hospital on February 2, 1931. It states that he had been a resident of the Town of Selkirk, in the Province of Manitoba for 30 years and 13 days, and in Canada for 30 years.
There is a discrepancy here as to how long he stayed in Ontario. His occupation was listed as a “carpenter.” No cause of death is documented. The dates of residency in Canada shows that he arrived in Canada in 1901 at the age of 26 years.

A death record dated 1931 and extracted from the Diocese of Rupert's Land Anglican Church records state that William Henry Howard Atkinson is identified as a foreman at the government docks in Selkirk, Manitoba.
