One of only 2 teams to have won the AHL Championship more than once
(Untouchables and Corporate Raiders) and one of only three teams to have ever achieved the "Cup-Double" (winning BOTH the AHL Championship and President's Cup in the same year). Despite this success, no one pays any attention to them...until April. The Untouchable teams have always relied on their speed, skill and cunning, and are never out of a game, much less a season. Just when you think they're about to weaken, look up 'cause there they are, challenging for top spot. The secret obviously lies in management's ability to surround their budding young stars with good veteran leadership. The Untouchables don't believe in putting undue pressure on their youngsters, that's why no player under the age of 30 has ever worn the captain's "C" for this team. Veterans at defense, at offense and in the net. There's gotta be something to it. |
