Profile:
The Raiders have adopted two philosophies: 1) build from the goal out 2) grab every player you can. Through trades, waivers, free-agency and the minor-league draft, the Raiders have the goaltending tandem of Joseph and Khabibulin, and feature an all-star group of defenders that includes Niedermayer, Housley and Numminen. The forward position is generally the weakest on this team and the Raiders usually look to signing free agents and other available players to fill out their front lines. Bolstered by the success of their merchandising and huge fan support, the Raiders have money to spend and they're not afraid to spend it. Caaguazu generally has the league's highest payroll, and they're not shy about shelling out the big bucks if it means acquiring that final piece of the puzzle. If a championship can be bought, the Corporate Raiders are just the team to do it.
