October
Tim Hus
Fire Hall
October 1, 2008
Tim Hus has a voice sweeter than a Husqvarna chainsaw, a wit that is sharper than rusty barbed wire, and a list of songs longer than a Saskatchewan fence line! Following his acclaimed CD Huskies & Husqvarnas comes the highly anticipated fourth album (his second for Stony Plain Records) Bush Pilot Buckaroo joining Corb Lund and the legendary Ian Tyson on the label. Hus comes at his audience like a runaway rig, while firing off image-laden lyrics with the intensity of a western gunslinger. The Alberta based singer with the black hat and easygoing personality is a captivating and crown pleasing performer who easily draws listeners into the settings of his storytelling country and roots music. www.myspace.com/timhusmusic
Joe Fournier
Fire Hall
  October 24, 2008
Imagine if you will that Graham Parker, Nick Lowe and Elvis Costello grew up in the same broken down trailer park out behind the truck stop where their mothers worked as waitresses on a lonesome highway somewhere between Austin, Texas and Memphis, Tennessee. Got it? Then you know what rockin’ Americana singer Joe Fournier sounds like. www.myspace.com/joefournier1

After All These Years is a kick-ass alternative country/bluegrass/blues act from Winnipeg, MB. The band was formed in 2002 by brothers Todd (guitars/vocals) and Darrell Lesage (drums/mandolin/vocals). After writing several original songs, the band added guitar and dobro player Bryon Beernaerts. Travis Haugen is their newest member on bass and vocals. Their music is influenced by the likes of Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Bill Monroe, Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs but they’ve also been compared to Neil Young and Lynyrd Skynyrd. After 7 years of touring, recording and many live performances, live radio broadcasts and television appearances the quartet just released their seventh CD “Kicking’ Up Dust” on May 30th of this year. www.myspace.com/afteralltheseyears1.
