Hi! How exciting!
My own website to tell you that my dream of becoming a
published author of children’s picture books has come
true.
First though, let me
tell you a little about myself. I have one brother. I
have been married for forty years to my wonderful
husband and have had two exceptional children: a
daughter and a son. We are the proud grandparents of
three granddaughters and one grandson.
I am a teacher by
profession. I began my career at the age of seventeen.
I taught in both Ste. Rose Elementary and
Ecole Laurier (a Français
school) within the Turtle River School Division until
2005. I dedicated myself to teaching Kindergarten,
Grade 1 and Grade 2 but had to stop for health reasons.
Teaching allowed me to use my creativity and to work
with little ones.
I have always
enjoyed writing. All throughout my adult life I have
journaled and written poetry. While teaching I wrote
plays for the Christmas concerts because
it was so difficult to find something suitable for
combined classes. Now that I don’t have a 9:00 to 5:00
job I have the time to write. I started writing
children’s stories as gifts for my grandchildren. They
are my inspiration.
Most of the ideas for my stories are drawn from daily
occurrences, familiar places and family activities.
I love to play with
my grandchildren, play scrabble with my friends, paint,
read, dance, sing and listen to music. I especially love to go
fishing (summer and winter) with my husband.
