Reformation Party and Craft Show pictures

Click here for a few newly-added photos of the Reformation Party and the Morden Craft show this weekend! These aren't really the best quality pictures or the most representative of the events, but it's a start, anyway. I know other people were taking pictures of all the activity tables and the people in costume at the party, so I'll try to get a hold of some of those, scan them in, and spread them around.

For the interested, the party included the following:

~A German/Scandinavian-themed potluck dinner
~A very funny Youth skit
~The hymns and ambiance of the Renaissance, including several costumed helpers
~Four activity tables run by said costumed helpers. Table #1 was a "Pin the Theses on the Wittenberg Doors" game for kids. Table #2 was an "indulge yourself" giveaway with a free "indulgence"- a bag of chocolate chip cookies- with Ephesians 2:8-9 included, reminding us that salvation is a free gift. Table #3 was the "iconoclast" game table where you tried to knock down the devil without knocking out a stained glass window. Table #4 was in regard to having the Bible in the vernacular, where the game was to struggle matching up Latin Bible verses with their English equivalents. Winner got a nice gift basket. Each game table was decorated and included a display board with information. There were Youth manning three of these tables, and they did a heroic job with such a big responsibility.
~We also had a book table with loads of really excellent books and some other merchandise, for a Youth fundraiser.
~The woman who did most of the decorating had done a medieval/Renaissance-themed wedding this past summer. It looked really beautiful in the hall-- note the real trees in the back with the Christmas lights!
~Another woman, who was a florist, made the white rose centerpieces, to which we attached the tag with the explanation of the Luther's Rose. These were given away at each table.
~The evening ended with a hymn-sing-- "A Mighty Fortress," of course!

Shortly after this exhilarating experience, it was off to the craft fair. The last photo in the set is the picture of my table set-up. Considering the fact that I can't legally do transactions yet, I was pleased that a whole 4 items were reserved, and two more people made requests for custom orders. It was nice to display some artwork for a change!

Sounds like an intersting evening! How I would have loved to join you there!

I'm off to look at the photos, and then to bed, I said!

Loved the theme and the pictures. Looks like a lot of hard work and many dedicated, creative people to pull it off. Wish I could have been there to see it live.

That would have been a great party! And your artwork is fabulous!

I had the perfect dress to wear to your themed potluck dinner too!

"A mighty fortress is our God a trusty shield and weapon...." That'll be running through my head all day!
