Letter of Reference from Brian Foley, Choreographer and Director.

Mr. Foley has choreographed and directed major events spanning the globe.
I am very grateful to him for this kind letter.
In the end I did not get the RWB position in 1999 but I did find other new theatres to play in.
UPDATE: In the spring of 2002 I again used this letter along with others and I became the RWB SM in the fall of 2002.

Re: Mr. Paul A. Skirzyk

Dear Sirs:

Please accept this document as a letter of recommendation on behalf of Paul A. Skirzyk who is applying for a stage management position with The Royal Winnipeg Ballet Company.

Under my direction, Mr. Skirzyk was the assistant stage manager for three Rainbow Stage Productions.  Brigadoon and Damn Yankees in 1994, and Oklahoma in 1995.

After three very successful show runs, I realized Paul had a tremendous talent for stage management and therefore recommended to the Rainbow Stage Board of Directors that he be brought on board as the stage manager.

I am honored to have given Paul his first chance to stage manage a large scale musical.  His commitment to me, as choreographer/director,  his ability to communicate and his total professionalism, shown to all other production heads, as well as the performers, helped to make The Sound Of Music (1996), South Pacific (1997) and The Music Man (1998), all successful Rainbow productions.

Mr. Skirzyk is a respected stage manager, who in my opinion, would work diligently to maintain the Royal Winnipeg Ballet’s high standard of excellence, would always show compassion for his position and most importantly, would stage manage with professional integrity.

Please consider Mr. Paul A. Skirzyk for the position of stage manager with The Royal Winnipeg Ballet Company.

Respectfully yours,

Brian Foley.
Choreographer/Director
