All styles of music are acceptable--rock, folk, country, jazz, showtunes, etc. The essential elements of songwriting are the same for all genres of music.
This is a good way to meet fellow songwriters and to form writing partnerships. You will learn the essential elements of good songwriting and have an opportunity to develop and share your songwriting skills. We hope to see you at our Songwriter's Forum.
If you are interested in learning how to write songs or to expand your songwriting skills, contact Angela Fiebelkorn at (204) 268-4246 to learn the date and time of our next session.

We will supply you with the tools to "Pre-Draft" your song so you are clearly focused on the necessary elements of your composition. We also have a "Post-Draft" checklist so you can critique your own song before bringing it to the group for feedback and support.
We are very firm in the use of non-judgemental language and strictly adhere to the evaluation process. A positive and nurturing atmosphere will be maintained at all times.
If you are a lyricist, you are welcome to come and share your lyrics. If you write music, you are also welcome to attend. Many songwriting partnerships have been formed through forums like this one.
You are requested to bring a WORKING TAPE of the song you are working on. Production quality is not encouraged. We want the emphasis to be on the song itself, not on the production and packaging.
Each song will be played to the group and the critique guidelines will be followed when giving feedback to the songwriter.
You do not have to have a song ready to share with the group
to attend our workshop. Everyone is welcome to come and learn, to
share ideas and techniques, and to ask questions.
