RURAL ROOTS #1

Though this project was not my recording debut, it was the first mass released recording I have been on.  RURAL ROOTS #1 was a recording project sponsored by the Music & Folklore Association of Eastman, Incorporated.  The goal of the project was to promote the musicians of the Eastman area as well as to record some of the "old-timer's" who have been making music in the area for many years.  RURAL ROOTS #1 was a compilation recording---meaning that each "act" or "performer" was allowed one song.

The song I recorded with my friends was an original song written by Lisa Moltschanow and myself.  The song is called I NEED A MAN.  Lisa had a day off, and when I came home from work that particular day, she said, "Ang, listen to this" and sang me the chorus.  We laughed ourselves silly, and then proceeded to write the rest of the song.  Now some of the verses were unsuitable for all ages groups, but we were able to come up with enough verse that were recordable!!!!!

We had great fun writing this song and our goal was to keep it light and silly.  We called on some old friends to help with the music:  Doug Smith on drums and Dave Antonnation on bass and lead guitar.  Lisa played acoustic guitar, and I played the keyboards.  Both Lisa and I sang the song.

I NEED A MAN
c1996 AriSocs Music
by Lisa Moltschanow and Angela Fiebelkorn
Don't want some redneck beating down my door
Don't want a momma's boy, just like before
Don't need a fool, what can I say?
Just need a man who will always stay

Don't want a beater, playing mind games
Don't want a nice guy, driving me insane
Don't need a fool, what can I say?
Just need a man who will come out and play

I NEED A MAN    SOMEONE WHO CAN UNDERSTAND
I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE, WHO JUST WANTS TO HAVE A LITTLE FUN

Don't want a 'tater-man, watchin' TV
Don't want a married one, passin' VD
Don't need a fool, what can I say?
Just need a man who can make my day

Don't want a brainy guy, always talkin' strange
Don't want a poor man, beggin' small change
Don't need a fool, what can I say?
Just need a man who won't walk away

I NEED A MAN    SOMEONE WHO CAN UNDERSTAND
I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE, WHO JUST WANTS TO HAVE A LITTLE FUN

Don't want a yuppie who cooks on mesquite
Don't want a gambler who only likes to cheat
Don't need a fool, what can I say?
I just need man who'll come out and play

Don't want a hairy one, with a big beard
Don't want a psycho, acting all weird
Don't need a fool, what can I say?
Just need a man who can make my day

I NEED A MAN    SOMEONE WHO CAN UNDERSTAND
I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE, WHO JUST WANTS TO HAVE A LITTLE FUN
