Cemetery's

Cemetery's are a gold mine of information for the genealogist.  You can find out dates of birth, sometimes places of birth, and odd bits of information, depending upon what was written on the tombstone.  I've seen one tombstone that listed the family tree on the back!

In Manitoba, there are two cemetery's that are no longer attached to an active church that holds a lot of the early Fiebelkorn's.  Both these cemetery's are on the edge of a farmers field.

St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Friedensfeld, Manitoba.

Located:  Rural Municipality of La Broquerie
Take Highway 12 South of Steinbach, Manitoba; turn east (left) on Friedensfeld Road (which is Hwy 303); travel east just over two (2) miles; turn south (right) onto a dirt road leading into the field.  The cemetery is in the field.

Johann LUDWIG and Mathilda Fiebelkorn and many of their children and grandchildren are buried in this cemetery.

St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Brokenhead, Manitoba

Located:  Rural Municipality of Brokenhead, Township 15, Range 8E, Section 11.
Take Highway 12 North of Beausejour, Manitoba, turn east (right) on Highway 317; travel four (4) miles east on Highway 317 and then turn south (right) and travel 1 mile.  Turn east (left) and the cemetery is 1/2 mile on the north side of the road.

Many of the Fiebelkorn family that moved to Brokenhead in 1935, are buried in this cemetery.
