Dr. Furer's main research interests at the present time are the development of a cognitive- behavioral group treatment protocol for intense illness concern and exploration of childhood illness and death-related events in adults with intense illness concern. Her research has been supported in part by a grant from the Manitoba Health Research Council. She is presently conducting a controlled trial evaluating the group treatment approach for intense illness concern.
