Introduction to Clint Robertson

I started breeding and showing Jacobins in 1979 with Yellows from the late and very talented breeder Dave Loewen of Winnipeg, Manitoba. These birds were bred from stock from both Boug and McNorgan. I showed my first Champion in 1982. In the years that followed I added Reds and Whites to my stud and in 1987 I started my family of Blacks which has since become very successful and well known. I currently breed Jacobins in most all colours and have won Best of colour with all of them at our Canadian National show. My most recent win was Grand Champion at the Canadian National Jacobin Show with a Black. This was the largest Jacobin Show ever held in Canada. At this same show I also had six Best of colours with birds I bred.
I have been asked to judge many Jacobin shows including the U.S. National and it has all been very rewarding for me.
In the years I have been involved in the Jacobin fancy in Canada I have seen it grow and evolve into a highly competitive hobby with great people and large competitive shows. The fellowship among those involved is the most important part to me and it only seems right to share what I can with anyone who wants to be a part of this wonderful hobby. It is my feeling that there should be no secrets to being successful in the breeding and showing of Jacobins because it is the competition and the people who make the hobby what it is. The articles I have written reflect my philosophies and thoughts and are my way of giving back to the hobby what it has given me.
