The Louise Grégoire designs are truly originals.  The original drawing for each was created especially for needlework.  There are only two exceptions in the collection.  "The Last Spike", was taken from Canada's most famous photograph; and the "Old Mill", is from a painting (1902) by Dorilda Buron Lambert, my grandmother.

I have tried to create pictures that truly represent our beautiful country and our national heritage.  Designs feature wildlife, scenes, florals, scottish and ukrainian dancers as well as Inuit patterns.   An assortment of tiny florals and scenes are available in 1 thread petit point, suitable for jewelry or miniatures.  Skill levels vary from beginner to the experienced stitcher.

In order to obtain the appearance of a painting, many shades  must be used.  Sometimes, colour differences seem almost imperceptable.  They have been selected with utmost care.  DO NOT substitute colours.  An off-shade can be quite noticeable in the finished work.

All patterns are worked from a chart.  Each colour is designated by a symbol.

I hope you will spend many pleasant hours working on these designs and that you will enjoy your accomplishments for years to come.
